Composition and production: The hydraulic tiles are composed of grey or white Portland cement, marble powder, sand, colour pigments, additives and water. These raw materials are carefully selected and mixed together. They are then introduced into the mould of the tile that we are making and finally introduced into the hydraulic press so that the tile is pressed and completely finished. Afterwards we will go on to the setting process where they will have a minimum of 28 days rest, in order to guarantee a perfect final quality of our hydraulic mosaics. Applicable standards: The hydraulic tile is not regulated by European standards (CE), or national standards (UPEC). The tests carried out in the laboratory mentioned above are performed in the absence of these "standards", so we rely on the protocols for terrazzo or cement according to standard 1339:2004.
Geometric characteristics: Data obtained from the Generalitat Catalunya LGAI testing laboratory.
Difference between the 4 sides of a tile +/- 0.2 mm
Difference in thickness: +/- 0.5 mm
Average thickness of pigment layer: 3mm: +/- 1 mm
Surface flatness: Maximum bending -0.2 mm
Bending strength: Class 3 U marking
Wear resistance: Class 4 Marking I
Slip resistance: Class 3 (Torrastone anti-slip), Class 2 (all other our hydraulic tiles).
All products are made of cement and crushed marble and granite are porous materials of a "limestone" nature, which means that they can become stained. To limit the risk of staining we recommend applying, after installation, our interior mosaic sealer "Torrasealer" or for our exterior hydraulic, non-slip mosaic or Gaudi Hexagon range the "Torrastone Sealer". Please note that newly installed cement tiles are more delicate than old or used cement tiles as these have already aged and the pore of the tile has closed.
Hydraulic tiles may show slight variations in tone, format or thickness as a result of their handmade manufacture and the use of natural products in their manufacture. This does not constitute any right of guarantee for the return or restitution of the product. Each tile is unique.
Behind each of our hydraulic tiles is the unmistakable seal of our Torra brand.
